Sheba® Can Upgraded Recipe: Elevated Taste, Better Nutrition
We strongly recommend a gradual diet transition to help your cat adjust comfortably to the new recipe.
A proper dietary transition usually takes about 7 days, following the guide below:
If your cat’s current food isn’t available, you can offer another food they normally eat. If none is on hand, we recommend a similar flavor option such as the Sheba Pouch Chicken with Tuna in Gravy 70g or the Sheba Gourmet Cuisine Tuna Katsuobushi Carrot Flavor in Gravy 70g.
If your cat becomes hesitant, eats less, or refuses food at any stage, there’s no need to worry. Simply return to the previous mix that your cat was comfortable with for another 2-3 days, then slowly increase the proportion of the new Sheba® Can variant slowly again. Always ensure fresh water is available.
Cats can be sensitive to changes in smell, taste, or texture. Occasionally, this may lead to temporary vomiting, diarrhea, or food refusal. Transitioning slowly helps minimize these effects and supports your cat’s comfort and wellbeing.
If your cat still experiences tummy upset or struggles to adjust despite a gradual transition, it’s best to stop feeding the food and consult your veterinarian for further advice.
We strongly recommend that you continue to try to feed your cat with our new recipe as it is now complete and balanced. A complete and balanced meal provides cats with all the essential nutrients they need daily, including quality protein, fatty acids, amino acids e.g., taurine, vitamins and minerals to support overall health and well-being for long term health. If your cat rejects a certain variant, we recommend trying other Tuna-based variants within the Sheba can range to find the flavour your cat enjoys most.
